Return to The Mecca

A lifetime ago, I was known as “that guy” when it came to shooting new member presentations at Howard University and other places.  The presentations, sometimes known as probate shows and neophyte shows are the debuts of the new members of fraternities and sororities.  I went back to Howard today to catch a glimpse of the next generation.

I decided to make these photos black and white because I think it’s interesting to note to ourselves whether we pay more or less attention when we readily recognize the affiliations of the subjects.
